What is a chiringuito?
A chiringuito is a Spanish beach bar: an outdoor spot for food and drink set right on the sand or seafront promenade, within sight and sound of the water. Expect simple outdoor seating, a short kitchen menu built around the coast, and cold beer, open across the whole day rather than fixed lunch and dinner service.

FOMO Playa is at Paseo Marítimo el Pedregal, 11, right on Pedregalejo beach and Málaga’s oldest seafront promenade. The red terrace looks straight out to the coves: the spot to sit down with a drink, a vermouth or a caña and let the afternoon pass with the Mediterranean in front of you.

A vermouth from just up the road
FOMO Playa’s vermouth is unique to the house: it comes straight from Embrujo del Sur, a winery a short way from Pedregalejo. It’s served by the glass on the terrace, and you can take it home in a 37cl or a 75cl bottle. If it ever runs out some afternoon, more can arrive fast, so the usual move is to order a second glass.

From breakfast to the last round
A beach bar that opens at 9am with breakfast by the sea, moves on to gildas and beer at noon, fried fish in paper cones to share and drinks at night. No sardine espetos here: see the tapas or the full menu with prices. Open every day, until midnight on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, and until 1am on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. No booking needed: the group doesn’t take table reservations at any of its venues, so tables are first come, first served.
Getting here
